VITIGNO & TERROIR CELEBRATES CAMPANIA'S NATIVE WINES

The Vitigno & Terroir festival, promoting native wines of Campania, will be held during the 2nd and 3rd of March 2013. Coppola Foods, a third generation Italian food family business from Salerno, Italy, is delighted to support such an important event for the local produce and territory. Traditionally held in Salerno, this year Vitigno & Terroir will be hosted by magnificent “Palazzo Calvanese” in Castel San Giorgio.

Campania, or “Campania Felix” (Happy Campania), as it was named by Romans, is known for its wines for over 3,000 years and is home to legendary and so loved flavours of grapes, including Aglianico, Piedirosso, Fiano, Greco, Falanghina and Coda di Volpe. The programme of the festival allows exploring these native grapes and their particularities when grown in different parts of the region.

The festival’s wine discoveries will be complemented by presentation of locally produced finest authentic foods. The professionals and enthusiasts would be able to join cooking demonstrations and experience exciting new interpretations with Chef Gaetano Morese and wine tasting with professional sommeliers.

This festival is organised by the Salerno branch of A.I.S., the Association of Sommeliers of Italy, together with Associazione “Amici di Villa Calvanese”.
