COPPOLA PESTO SICILIANO AND COPPOLA TOMATO SOUP ARE WINNERS AT 2020 GREAT TASTE

GREAT TASTE AWARD 2020

Coppola Foods, an innovative food company committed to making good food better, is delighted to receive 2-star Great Taste Award (“GTA”) for its Coppola Pesto Siciliano (sundried tomatoes) and 1-star Great Taste Award for its vegan Coppola Tomato Soup.

Packed full of sundried tomatoes” Coppola Pesto Siciliano was highly praised by the judges at the Great Taste, pointing out its “thick and chunky” consistency as well as “soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture”.

Coppola Pesto Siciliano is Coeliac Gluten Free certified, and is part of wider Coppola sauces range, out of which Coppola No Sugar Added Classico, Puttanesca and Sicilaina tomato sauces have also received 1-star GTA in 2018.

Coppola Tomato Shine & Glow! Soup was recognised this year for its “aromatic, thick and velvety” texture. It was also highlighted that “the aroma and flavour of tomatoes shines brightly, boosted by the basil, which plays a gentle second fiddle to the tomato.”

Coppola Tomato Shine & Glow! Soup is vegan and made from 100% natural high quality simple ingredients, with no added sugar or sweeteners, providing 3 of your 5 a day. It is a source of fibre and gluten free. Coppola vegan soup range includes four unique vegetable recipes. Great Taste are the world’s most trusted food and drink awards and this year 12,777 products were judged from 106 different countries. Recognised as a stamp of excellence among consumers and retailers alike, Great Taste values taste above all else, with no regard for branding and packaging.

The panel of 144 judges at Great Taste this year included; cook, writer and champion of sustainable food, Melissa Hemsley, cook, writer, stylist and voice of modern vegetarian cooking, Anna Jones, celebrated Spanish chef, José Pizarro, Kavi Thakrar from Dishoom, food writer and cook, Xanthe Clay, and baker and author, Martha Collison, as well as food buyers from Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and Waitrose.

3-star: Extraordinarily tasty foods – around 1.5% of products are awarded a 3-star each year.

2-star: Above and beyond delicious – 10% of entries will achieve this rating.
